The short version

  • TimeBud is a planner with an AI assistant called Bud. These terms are the deal between you and us.
  • You must be old enough (13, or 14 in Québec).
  • You own your content. We use it only to run TimeBud for you.
  • Free and Pro plans. Credits pay for Bud's AI actions.
  • Pro renews automatically. You can cancel any time. We don't refund purchases, except where the law requires it, or when we end your account without a violation or stop offering TimeBud.
  • Don't abuse TimeBud, Bud or other people.
  • Québec law applies. Your consumer rights where you live stay in place.

About these terms

TimeBud is operated by Sora Bon, Montréal, Québec, Canada ("TimeBud", "we", "us").

These terms cover the TimeBud website, the web app and the iOS app, and Bud (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use TimeBud.

Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your personal information. Our Cookie policy explains cookies.

Who can use TimeBud

You must be at least 13. If you live in Québec, you must be at least 14.

TimeBud has no parental-consent flow. So if you are below that age, you may not use TimeBud.

When you sign up, you confirm that you meet this age. If you already had an account, we ask you once. We record your confirmation and the time.

Each account is for one person. Don't share your account.

Your account

  • Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your sign-in details safe.
  • Tell us right away at hi@usetimebud.app if you think someone else got into your account. We'll help you secure it.

What TimeBud does

TimeBud helps you turn missions into jobs and plan your days. Bud, the AI assistant, helps with that. You can connect a calendar, if you want. TimeBud can send notifications you opt in to.

We may improve or change features over time. If a change significantly reduces what you paid for, see "Changes to these terms".

Bud and AI

  • Bud uses Anthropic's Claude to plan with you, split goals into jobs, file quick captures and answer chat. Voice clips are transcribed by OpenAI (Whisper).
  • AI features stay off until you agree to the AI notice. You can turn AI off in Profile any time.
  • The AI notice and our Privacy policy say what is sent to the providers. Your password, payment details and email are never sent. Anthropic and OpenAI do not use the data we send them to train their models.
  • AI can be wrong. What Bud suggests is not professional advice. It is not medical, legal, financial, mental-health or academic advice. You decide what to do. Please double-check dates and anything important.
  • Bud asks before deleting anything. You can undo changes. The undo option that appears after a change lasts 10 seconds. Changes made in chat can be undone from the chat for 7 days. You can't undo a change if the item changed since.

Plans and prices

Prices are in US dollars. TimeBud doesn't collect sales tax yet. We'll tell you before any tax starts to apply. In the iOS app, Apple shows you the final price before you buy.

PlanPriceCredits each month
Free$0300
Pro, monthly$8 per month3,000
Pro, yearly$60 per year3,000

We don't sell subscriptions or credit packs in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. Checkout refuses purchases from those countries.

Free trial

You can have one 7-day Pro trial per person. That is one across web and iOS combined, not one on each.

A trial gets the full Pro allowance: 3,000 credits.

The trial ends at local midnight after day 7.

On the web, you add a card to start the trial. We don't charge it during the trial.

What happens when the trial ends:

  • Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it turns into a paid Pro subscription on the plan you chose: $8 per month or $60 per year.
  • We charge your card for the first period when the trial ends, at local midnight after day 7. That is the first charge date. Pro then renews automatically (see "Subscriptions").
  • To avoid the charge, cancel before the trial ends: in the app, go to Billing, then Manage.
  • If there is no payment method on file when the trial ends, the trial just ends and your account returns to Free.

On iOS, the trial is Apple's introductory offer. It turns into a paid Pro subscription when it ends, unless you cancel it in your Apple account settings. Apple shows you the price and the first charge date before the trial starts.

Subscriptions

  • Pro renews automatically each month or each year, until you cancel.
  • You can cancel any time. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you paid for. You keep Pro until then, and we don't charge you again.
  • To cancel on the web: in the app, go to Billing, then Manage. That opens the Stripe customer portal. To cancel an iOS subscription, use your Apple account settings.
  • Web payments: if a payment fails, Pro stays for a 7-day grace period while we retry. If it still fails, Pro ends and you go back to Free.
  • Switching from monthly to yearly is charged at once, prorated for the time left in your current period.

Credits

Credits pay for Bud's AI actions.

  • Your monthly allowance (300 on Free, 3,000 on Pro) resets on a rolling monthly cycle, not on the calendar month. On Pro, it follows your billing date. On Free, it runs monthly from when your allowance started, which is when you signed up. It doesn't carry over.
  • You can buy credit packs: 500 credits for $5, or 1,500 credits for $12.
  • Credit packs never expire. We use them after your monthly allowance.
  • Credits have no cash value. You can't transfer them or sell them.
  • If you delete your account, unused credits are lost.
  • Credits don't mean unlimited use. To keep TimeBud safe and affordable, we also limit how much AI one account can use in a day. If you reach that limit, AI features pause until the next day; your credits stay yours.

What AI actions cost

Each action has a fixed price in credits.

ActionCredits
A chat message to Bud40
A quick capture20
Breaking a goal into steps80
Voice transcription (Pro only)6 per started minute
  • Every AI interaction is charged, including one where the AI declines to answer.
  • If a technical failure means no answer is produced, we return the credits to your account. This is a credit adjustment, not a money refund.
  • Confirming a change Bud proposed costs nothing.

Paying on the web

Stripe handles web payments. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's terms apply to the payment. When you subscribe, you allow us to charge you again at each renewal until you cancel.

How checkout works. Before you pay, you tick a required box that says: "I agree to the Terms and ask TimeBud to start my plan or credits right away." Stripe records your acceptance with the purchase.

After you pay, we email you a confirmation. It is a copy of your contract. It shows what you bought, the price, when it renews, how to cancel, and a link to these Terms.

Paying in the iOS app

Apple handles purchases in the iOS app. Apple's terms apply, and so does Apple's refund process. You manage your subscription in your Apple account settings (on iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions).

Deleting your TimeBud account does not cancel an Apple subscription. You must cancel it in your Apple settings. The app shows how.

Changes to prices and plans

We may change prices, monthly allowances, or credit costs. We give you at least 30 days' written notice, by email or in the app. A change applies from your next billing period. It never applies to a period you have already paid for.

If you don't accept a change, you can cancel. See "Changes to these terms" for your right to refuse. For iOS subscriptions, Apple also tells you about price changes under its own rules.

Refunds

  • No refunds. We don't refund a subscription or a credit pack once you've bought it. That includes part-used periods and unused credits. Cancelling stops future renewals only.
  • Except where the law requires a refund. Your legal rights always apply, and nothing here takes them away.
  • Except when we end your account without a violation, or stop offering TimeBud. See "Suspension and ending your account".
  • Credits for failed AI calls are returned as credits, as described above.

Québec. Québec's Consumer Protection Act has rules for contracts made at a distance, including the information we give you before you buy and your right to cancel in the cases the Act sets out. They apply to your web purchases, and nothing in these terms limits them.

Apple purchases. Apple decides refund requests for App Store purchases, under its own process. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your content

Your content is what you add to TimeBud, and what Bud creates for you from it, such as plans and job lists. As between you and us, you own it.

You give TimeBud a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, send and show your content, only as needed to run the service for you. That includes sending it to the providers that help us run TimeBud (hosting, AI, payments, email), as our Privacy policy describes.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account. Backups are deleted within 90 days.

You are responsible for your content. Don't add content you don't have the right to use.

Feedback. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve TimeBud. We don't owe you anything for them.

TimeBud's stuff

TimeBud's app, code, design, name, logo and the Bud brand belong to TimeBud. These terms don't give you any ownership of them.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service under these terms. Don't use our name or logo without asking first.

Using TimeBud fairly

Please don't:

  • abuse the service, or other people, or try to harm TimeBud;
  • scrape or copy the service in bulk;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or try to get at our source code, except where the law lets you;
  • overload Bud or the service, for example with automated requests;
  • get around credits, limits or paywalls;
  • add or send unlawful content;
  • share your account, or sell or lend access to it;
  • break the law, or the rights of others, while using TimeBud.

Other companies' services

TimeBud works with services from other companies. Their terms apply to your use of them. This includes Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, push notifications), Google (Sign in with Google, Google Calendar) and Stripe (web payments). We aren't responsible for those services.

For the iOS app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to you, together with these terms. Apple isn't responsible for the app and has no duty to provide support or maintenance for it.

Suspension and ending your account

By you. You can delete your account any time: in the app, go to Profile, then Delete account. See Delete your data.

By us. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, put others or the service at risk, don't pay, or if the law requires it. We'll give you notice and the reason where it's reasonable to. For serious or urgent cases, such as security risks or illegal activity, we may act at once. If you think we made a mistake, write to us at hi@usetimebud.app.

What happens next. Your right to use the service ends. We delete your data as our Privacy policy says. If you delete your account, or we end it because you broke these terms, unused credits are lost.

If we end your account without a violation, or we stop offering TimeBud, we refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription time (pro-rated) and any unused credit packs. We refund web purchases to the payment method you used. For App Store purchases, Apple handles the refund under its own process.

The service "as is"

We take reasonable care to keep TimeBud available and secure. We can't promise it will always work, be error-free or never lose data. Please keep your own note of important dates.

To the extent the law allows, we provide the service "as is" and "as available". This does not affect the legal guarantees you have as a consumer, such as those in Québec's Consumer Protection Act, or in the consumer law where you live. Those stay in place.

Limit of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, missed deadlines, grades, jobs or profits;
  • our total responsibility to you for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months and USD 50.

These limits do not apply to:

  • death, bodily injury or moral injury;
  • fraud, or harm we cause on purpose or through gross fault (or gross negligence);
  • anything the law does not let us exclude or limit, including your rights as a consumer.

Where the law of your home does not allow a limit, that limit applies only as far as the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. For example, when we add features, change plans, prices, allowances or credit costs, or when the law changes.

  • We tell you in writing, by email to your account address and in the app, at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
  • The notice sets out the new clause, or the old and the new one. It gives the date it takes effect. It explains your right to refuse.
  • If a change makes things worse for you (for example a higher price, fewer credits or fewer rights), you can refuse it and cancel at no cost or penalty. Tell us no later than 30 days after the change takes effect. We'll refund the unused part of any period you paid for in advance.
  • If you don't cancel and keep using TimeBud, you accept the change.
  • Changes that don't make things worse for you, like fixing a typo or adding a feature, can take effect when we post them.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the district of Montréal can hear disputes about them.

If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the law where you live, including Québec's Consumer Protection Act. You can also bring a claim in the courts where you live when the law gives you that right.

These terms don't force you into arbitration, and they don't take away your right to join a class action.

Before you go to court, please write to us. Most problems are quick to fix.

Language

These terms are available in French and English. When you sign up, we link to both versions, French first, so you can read the one you prefer before you agree. You can read the French version any time at https://usetimebud.app/conditions.

The version you chose to read when you agreed is the one you agreed to. If the two versions ever differ, that version applies to you.

The rest

  • If part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stays in force.
  • If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up that right.
  • You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor, with notice to you, if TimeBud is sold or merged. Your rights under these terms and under the law stay the same.
  • These terms and the documents they point to are the whole agreement between you and us about TimeBud.
